Singapore, 14 October 2020 – Thunes, a leading cross-border payments network, today announced that Tamer El-Emary has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer. This is a new, strategic role at the company, and the appointment follows a recent successful financing round which sees Thunes continuing to grow its business and expand its product offering.

El-Emary brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in driving growth and strategic alliance activity at companies such as MasterCard and American Express in London and New York. In his most recent role as Chief Commercial Officer at WorldRemit he led the expansion and optimisation of the company’s global network and its strategic partnerships.

From Thunes’ London office he will lead the sales, marketing, global network partnerships and customer success functions, enabling greater collaboration between business units to support the company’s next phase of development.
