Employee Spotlight on Virginia Jimeno
Meet the humans behind Thunes. Our Employee Spotlight series shines a light on the people who make our business what it is, sharing the experiences, perspectives, and journeys that shape our culture.
In this spotlight, we’re proud to introduce Virginia Jimeno, who has spent the past two years learning, adapting, and delivering at pace in our fast-moving business. Read on to discover what she’s learned, what motivates her, and the experiences that have shaped her journey at Thunes.
Based in Barcelona, Virginia Jimeno joined Thunes in 2024 as a Technical Lead. Since then, she has transitioned into the role of Technical Project Manager. Today she sits between business and technology, helping teams turn ideas into reality and projects into outcomes.
One of the things Virginia enjoys most about working with the Technology and Product Team is the variety of her role and the projects she gets to work on.
“There’s always something different going on, and no two projects are exactly the same. Coming from engineering industries with much longer project timelines, I really appreciate the agility and being able to see the impact of your work much faster. I like the variety and the fact that you’re constantly learning something new.”
The pace is matched by a collaborative culture that stood out from the beginning.
“What surprised me most was how much ownership people take. People naturally step in to help and get things done. I was also pleasantly surprised by how collaborative the environment is.”
Working across different teams has also helped Virginia better understand what she loves most about her career.
“I’ve realized that I like being between the technical and business sides. I enjoy understanding how things work, but I also enjoy working with people and finding practical solutions.”

Outside of project work, Virginia has had fun getting to know colleagues across the business. She particularly enjoyed meeting teammates from around the world during Thunes Together and joining Community Day activities, seeing them as a great way to connect with others beyond the day-to-day work.
At work, seeing a project go live remains one of the most rewarding parts of the role.
“There are many moving parts behind the scenes. It’s rewarding to see everything come together and know you’ve helped make it happen.”
Like many roles, the work comes with challenges. Balancing multiple priorities across clients, teams, technologies, and business contexts requires constant focus and adaptability.
“It means switching gears regularly while staying focused on what matters most.”
Virginia’s advice for anyone considering a career at Thunes?
“Stay curious, ask questions, and be open to learning. Things move quickly, but that’s also what makes it such a great place to grow.”
