Thunes Named ‘Best Cross-Border Payment Technology Platform’ by The Asian Banker
Prestigious award recognises the Thunes Direct Global Network and its Swift Pay to wallet solution
Singapore – 22 May 2025 – Thunes, the Smart Superhighway to move money around the world, is proud to announce it has been named Best Cross-Border Payment Technology Platform at The Asian Banker’s prestigious Global Financial Technology Innovation Awards 2025. This recognition highlights the trust Thunes has earned from the global banking community and its pivotal role in enabling interoperability between banks and the mobile wallets ecosystem for real-time, cross-border payments, including its Swift Pay to wallet solution.
The Asian Banker’s Global Financial Technology Innovation Awards honour institutions that demonstrate outstanding leadership, customer focus, and resilience in an ever-evolving financial landscape.
Following a rigorous evaluation process, Thunes was recognised for its exceptional ability to address complex cross-border payment needs with cutting-edge, scalable technology. The award acknowledged Thunes’ ability to allow financial institutions connected to Swift to become Members of Thunes’ proprietary Direct Global Network and process fast, transparent and reliable cross-border payments directly to 120 mobile wallet brands around the world, without needing to undertake a separate technical integration to Thunes. Through Thunes’ Direct Global Network financial institutions can send instant payments directly to mobile wallets in over 130 countries and 80 currencies.
Thunes’ overall achievements in product innovation, operational excellence, and its impact in driving interoperability to support financial inclusion and connectivity across emerging and developed markets were also highlighted throughout the judging process.

“We’re proud to be headquartered in Singapore, in the heart of a region driving fintech innovation on a global scale, so receiving this recognition is a tremendous honour.
